TikTok Shop Fees

TikTok charges 6% on nearly every order across almost all categories, and this has been the case since 1 April 2024. Most of what you'll find elsewhere is either a rate from another country, an outdated rate, or simply made up, so this page compares the pages ranking for this search with what TikTok actually publishes.

Fees determine which products are worth listing, which is why Ecom Accelerator places product research and sourcing at the forefront of its team's work, instead of leaving the store owner to figure it out later.

What TikTok charges, in its own words

The referral fee is the entire commission. TikTok's seller documentation states:

"Starting April 1, 2024, TikTok Shop will increase the referral fee on all qualified transactions to 6% per order."

It is calculated as "Referral Fee Rate % *(Customer Payment + Platform Discount - Tax)". The platform discount is included in that formula, so if TikTok funds a promotion on your item, the fee is calculated on the price before the discount is applied, rather than on what you actually received.

The categories charged differently

As of 31 October 2024, five jewelry sub-categories pay 5% instead of 6%: diamond, gold, jade, platinum and carat gold, and ruby, sapphire and emerald. Pre-owned goods are 5%, with any portion of a sale above $10,000 charged at 3%. Collectibles follow the same structure at 6%, with the portion above $10,000 at 3%.

Everything else is 6%, including automotive, baby and maternity, beauty, books, computers, fashion, food, furniture, health, home improvement and womenswear.

The new seller rate and its conditions

New sellers pay 3% for 30 days, but you must complete onboarding and make a sale within 60 days, and the discounted rate starts within 48 hours of that first order, not on the day you sign up. So the cheap month begins when you sell something, meaning your stock and first creator need to be ready before you open. Ecom Accelerator has both in place before a partner's store goes live.

What you don't pay a fee for

There's no listing fee, no monthly subscription, and no separate charge for transactions or payment processing, since processing is already included in the referral rate. That final point is exactly where the guides ranking for this term get it wrong.

Two costs that don't appear on the fee schedule

When an order gets refunded, TikTok gives back your referral fee minus a refund administration fee, which has been capped at $5 per SKU type since 15 May 2025. Creator sample orders under buy now refund later, along with pre-shipment auto-cancellations that meet TikTok's criteria, don't get charged it.

Withdrawals run $0.05 per bank transfer, or 0.9% of the amount for PayPal. And if your business is registered in West Virginia or Texas, TikTok has applied sales tax to the referral fee itself since 1 November 2025, added automatically on the seller invoice.

Fulfillment, when TikTok handles the shipping

Fulfilled by TikTok is priced apart from the commission, beginning at roughly $4.28 per unit for items weighing four ounces or less and about $4.70 for eight to twelve ounces. Storage comes free for 60 days, after which charges start at around $0.03 per cubic foot per day. Ecom Accelerator packs and ships from US facilities on the stores it runs, so its partners don't set the price for this line themselves.

Why the page sitting second disagrees with TikTok

The page in position two for this exact search puts out a fee table showing fashion at 8%, beauty at 5%, health at 6%, electronics at 3% and food at 2%, tacks on a $0.30 transaction fee plus 2.0% payment processing, and claims new sellers pay 2% for 90 days.

Hardly any of that lines up with TikTok's documentation. The category percentages aren't TikTok's, the new seller rate is 3% for 30 days instead of 2% for 90, and the transaction fee doesn't exist at all. That last mistake causes real harm, since a seller calculating $0.30 plus 2% on thin-margin goods will turn down products that would have sold. The page in position four agrees with TikTok, so this SERP holds the right answer and a confident wrong one just two positions apart. Ecom Accelerator builds the fee stack from TikTok's current figures instead of from whatever happens to rank.

What it leaves you with on a real order

For a $30 product, TikTok takes $1.80 at a 6% rate. If the item itself costs $14, you're already at $14.20 before you factor in shipping, returns, or any creator commission.

Then factor in the piece that the fee guides tend to skip. TikTok Shop moves products through creators, and since you decide their commission, somewhere between 10% and 20% is typical. At 15% on that same $30 sale, another $4.50 comes off, which leaves $9.70 before shipping. The referral fee is the minor figure, while the creator economics are the major one, and that is why Ecom Accelerator factors in both at once during product research.

What Ecom Accelerator does

Ecom Accelerator sets up and runs stores that are yours, on both TikTok Shop and eBay. You put up the capital for inventory, while Ecom Accelerator's team takes care of product research, sourcing, listing creation, marketing and sales, order fulfillment, customer service, and packing and shipping out of US facilities. More than 300 partner stores, a US-based operations team of at least 250 people, established in 2024.

You retain 70 percent of the profit while Ecom Accelerator keeps 30, meaning it only makes money when your store does. Ecom Accelerator reports a 32 percent return on inventory sold from January through December 2025, describes that as a historical result rather than a guarantee, and notes that a store needs 60 to 90 days to hit its growth stage and twelve to fourteen months to reach its full potential.

Should you still not have covered your costs by month 16, Ecom Accelerator stops collecting its share and works for free until you do. Its terms state that this guarantees the service rather than your profit, that results differ, and that you can lose money.

The short version

Six percent per order on almost everything, 5% on five jewelry sub-categories and pre-owned items, and 3% for the first 30 days if you sell within 60 days of onboarding. No listing fee, no subscription, and no transaction fee. Refund administration is capped at $5 per SKU type, while withdrawals cost five cents or 0.9%.

Verify the rate displayed in Seller Center for the category you're actually listing under, since the pages ranking for this question contradict one another and one of the top two is incorrect. Ecom Accelerator prices every product against the current figures before a partner's store lists it.
